Security Update for Internet Explorer (2965111)

There has been a much talked about Internet Explorer vulnerability hole that had everyone ditching Internet Explorer for higher ground.  At Oxford we have been telling our customers for over 5 years to use Firefox and Chrome as their main browser. They are faster and more secure. Internet Explorer 11 is out for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and is giving Chrome and Firefox a run for their money when it comes to speed; however there have been 275 known vulnerabilities to Internet Explorer over the years and since it is still the primary browser in the world it is always being attacked.

Our advice is simple; switch to Firefox or Chrome now.

Microsoft did release a patch on May 2 for the last known hole in their software. Their latest Security Bulletin (link below) talks about the latest issue and as long as your are running your normal Windows updates you are ok… for now…..
